Fourth (Southern) Division [Celestia]
Note: Unusually, Southern Division lacks a "Heavy" brigade. Heavy Units take place of light units in other brigades. This is due to the 18th Pegasus Legion being a part of this division - The oldest active Equestrian military unit, descended from the personal legion of Commander Hurricane.
7th Eastern Brigade
-4th Royal Yokeshire Guards [H, E]
-17th Sto Plains Lancers [M, P]

-Musical Corps** (700) [X, C]
-Community Support Initiative Corps*** (350) [X, C]
-Education and Training Corps (750) [X, C]

-Supply and Transport Corps **** (30,000) [X, C]
11th Special Support Brigade
-22 Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) (350) [Cadenza] [L, C]
-Special Emergency And Life-Preservation Service (SEALS) (350) [Luna][L, C]

* - These corps are effectively administrative units only. Most members of these corps are attached into companies within each regiment's support (third) battalion). Note that numbers listed for these corps are the administrative unit horsepower: the majority of troopers in the corps are attached into and included in other regiments.
** - The Musical Corps consists of bands for each regiment in addition to an administrative unit. Members of the Musical Corps represent, but are not part of or attached to, a regiment. The numbers listed here are the entire Musical Corps
*** - The Community Support Initiative is primarily an Administrative unit only, overseeing the secondment, assignment, and co-ordination of troops from other regiments to Civil Support duties such as non-military security (policing, assiting in event security and other civil protection), providing emergency services support (firefighting and emergency ambulance/first-aid), and disaster relief. Most of its field troopers and officers are attached from other regiments and the listed number is the permanent administrative staff of the CSI as well as regional agents in place.
**** - The Supply and Transport Corps is the largest single unit in the Guard, comprising 30,000 troopers. It is also home to the Land Air Wing, the light airship transports operated by the Land Guard. Note that many artillery regiments, especially airborne artillery, use attack ships to carry artillery.

Reserve Division:
Tenth (Reserve) Division[Celestia/Luna/Cadenza]
30th Brigade
-Savvaneigh Regiment
-Neigh Orleans Light Cavalry
40th Brigade
-Manechester Regiment
-Fillydelphia Air Regiment
50th Heavy Brigade
-Emerald Heavy Cavalry
-Anhk-Morpork Heavy Regiment
-8th Artillery Regiment

Tenth Division is presently stood down officially, and exists only as a reservist training system under the Community Support Initiative. If called up, Tenth Division gains officers from a reservist compliment. At present, the recruitment and organization of reservists is the purview of the Community Support Initiative, with assistance from the Education and Training Corps.

Proposed Divisions:
Third (Harmony) Division [Cadenza]
20th Harmony Brigade
-1st Regiment of Cadenza [Canterlot Grenadier Guards] [M,U]
-X Regiment [Harmony Horse Guards] [M, C]
21st Harmony Brigade
-Y Regiment [Everfree Earth Guards] [L, E]
-Z Regiment [Airstream Pegasus Guards] [M, P]
22nd Heavy Brigade
-A Regiment [Harmony Cataphracts] [H,C]
-B Regiment [Harmony Air Cavalry] [H, P]
-Cadenza Artillery Regiment

Third Division, currently nicknamed the Ghost Division as it does not yet exist, is to be formed by taking elements from other Royal Brigades, 500 troopers from each regiment taken to form 1000 strong regiments across the board, plus a newly formed artillery regiment. Note that previously royal brigades had an extra 500 troopers per non-artillery regiment: this will make all six divisions 7000 strong nominally.

It is proposed that the artillery regiment in question actually be a newly-raised Tank Destroyer regiment, but this is seen as an alternative to the proposed Eighth Division.

Eighth (Air and Armored) Division [Cadenza/Luna]
Guard Airship Combat Brigade
-First Airship Cavalry Regiment
-Second Airship Cavalry Regiment
Guard Mounted Cavalry Brigade
-First Mounted Cavalry Regiment
-Second Mounted Cavalry Regiment
Guard Armored Support Brigade
-First Tank Destroyer Regiment
-Second Tank Destroyer Regiment
-First Air Ordnance Carrier Wing

Eighth Division is a somewhat controversial proposal by Princesses Luna (though supported also by Princess Cadenza) . It proposes the use of airship and self-propelled ground transports (So-called Troop Carriers) for a rapid response element, able to move large distances without sacrificing combat ability through exhaustion. It also proposes a combat element comprised of Tank Destroyers [specifically a variant the Columbian M5 Spectre to be called the Equestrian Defense Vehicle (EDV) Casper Mark 1] and "Ordnance Carrier" Strike Fighters (light, two-crew attack airships armed with a massive array of rockets and torpedoes).

Most opposition to the scheme focuses on the expense and likely role of such a unit. As a highly mobile modern force, in tandem with the use of armored fighting vehicles, there is concern the proposal is too much of an offensive unit, even if using nominally defensive "Tank Destroyers" as the heaviest armor. Critics note that the division's stated role of rapidly responding and reinforcing existing troops in place could easily be altered to rapidly attacking an objective. Concerns over the lethality of such a unit have also been raised, and resemblance to the "Donnerpędzić" forces employed by Germaney and Ponyland against Uberwald have also been noted.

Defunct Regiments:
Note: These regiments have, over time, become defunct. Most modern Guard regiments trace heritage back to militias formed by nobles. Many small regiments were disbanded and troopers transferred to other regiments, though most defunct regiments have a small museum, either in their hometown or Canterlot Castle.

EQUESTRIAN GUARD RANKS
All ranks are split by grade: This denotes seniority as well as pay grade. Though the Guard is officially one single combined service, the Land and Air-Naval guard use separate ranking terms in recognition of the Naval and Air pedigrees of the latter element.

Within the Air-Navy and Land guard, Flight Crews of airships follow separate ranking terminology also. The simple rule is, if the trooper is crew of a larger airship, they are Air Navy ranked. If they actually fly and control the airship (EG bridge crew) or are aboard/maintain Light Airships, they are  Flight Crew.

A campaign has been launched by the Air-Naval Calvary to grant them either the distinct ranks of Marine, or to adopt the ranks of the Land Guard with the prefix "Naval".

Officer Ranks (Land/Air Navy/Pilot and Flight Crew)
Officers are drawn from three sources:
-Trained from age twelve at a Guard Officers Academy (EG Royal Guard Cadet School and College Canterlot Castle), achieving the rank of Officer Cadet at age sixteen, and then completing two further years of officer training. Academy Officers are expected to graduate high-school level educations at age sixteen, and undergo college/university grade education spread over four years alongside duties/training as an Officer Cadet/OG1, at which point promotion to OG2 is immediate. All Air Naval and Flight Officers are drawn from the Academy.

-College/University graduates from civilian schools are given two years of officer training, and emerge as OG1 officers. Note this normally means College/University Graduates are 22-24, whilst Academy officers are OG2 grade by this age.

-Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted troopers may be given a Brevet Commission in certain circumstances. These range from acts of heroism, identification as possible officer candidates by senior NCOs and superior Officers, or as a posthumous honor.

OG9 General /Admiral/Air Marshal*
OG8 Major General/Rear Admiral/Air Vice-Marshal*

Officer, Half Bodyguard: Knight
Senior NCO, Any Bodyguard with at least one Officer: [rank]-At-Arms
Senior NCO, Half Bodygaurd without at least one Officer: Squire
EG1 Guardspony [Night Guard Only]

Notes:
-The Senior Officer of any Full Bodyguard Detail of at least thirty troopers is a Commander. Commanders maintain their original paygrade but are effectively equivalent in rank to an OG5 if not that rank or higher already.
-If an officer is in command of a Half Bodyguard Detail of under thirty troopers, the Officer is a Knight and is treated as an OG4 if not that rank or higher already.
-The most senior NCO of any Bodyguard Detail, normally NCO of the Command Squad, may be given the rank suffix "At Arms" to their existing rank. This merely marks them as the senior NCO nominally above any others of equivalent rank in the bodyguard.
-If an NCO is in command of a Half Bodyguard Detail of under fifteen troopers, that NCO is a  Squire. They retain their original paygrade, but are effectively equivalent in rank to an OG2.
-Night Guard EG1s are called Guardsponies if part of a Royal Bodyguard. They are deemed senior to regular EG1s but are below EG2

GUARD CADETS
The Guard Cadets are a youth voluntary organization, led by adult volunteers. These are normally either serving enlisted Guard members as part of the Community Service Initiative, Reservists, or civilian volunteers. Very rarely, a serving or retired officer may lead a Guard Cadet unit.

Cadet Units are organised with the Area Battalion as the largest unit. Large cities have a number of battalions in close proximity, whilst rural areas may have a battalion covering a vast area.

Civilian volunteers must either be former Cadets who made at least Cadet Corporal rank, or former serving Guard Members, to be ranked any higher than Assistant. These volunteers are technically outranked by any serving or retired members of the Guard, including Reservists.

Past service in the Cadets is compulsory for Reservists who are not former Full Guard members,  and all Academy officer trainees are part of the Guard Cadets until promotion to Officer Cadets, as which point they are Guard Members.

Cadets may join from the age of ten to sixteen, and remain Cadets up to the age of eighteen (with the exception of Officer Cadets, who are no longer Guard Cadet members after they are promoted to Officer Cadets and therefore have enlisted into the Guard proper).

Battalion: 4-8 Troops and Battalion Leader
Troop: 2-4 Platoons and Troop Leader
Platoon: 2-5 Sections and Platoon Leader
Section:  10 Cadets and 1 Assistant
Team: 5 Cadets

Battalion Leaders: Either serving or reservist Guard NCOs of at least EG4 or Officer Grades, or retired Guard NCOs of at least EG4 Grade or Officers.
Troop Leaders:  Either serving or reservist Guard EG3s, or senior civilian volunteers who are former Guard Cadet Sergeants
Platoon Leaders:  Either serving Guard or Reservist EG2s and EG1s, or civilian volunteers who are former Guard Cadet Corporals.
Assistants:  Civilian volunteers. Cadet Corporals or Sergeants aged over fifteen may be assistants.

The Cadets have their own rank structure also:
C4 Cadet Sergeant (minimum four years membership)
C3 Cadet Corporal (minimum two years members)
C2 Cadet Lance-Corporal (minimum one years membership)
C1 Cadet Private

The most senior non-private leads a Squad. In practice these ranks are no senior or junior to other cadets, and only Corporals and Sergeants who are old enough may be trusted as Section Leaders. No cadet who is not a Section Leader may give "orders" to another cadet, but senior cadets are responsible for junior cadets, and junior cadets are advised to listen to the advice of their seniors.

Guard Cadets are not given any training in the use of weapons.

A bit confused here, are the Royal Guards a military or a police force?
