FF9 Blockbreaker: Eiko is Spy

Eiko and Vivi stood in the gardens of Alexandria Castle, beside a fountain. The former wore a cherub costume, the latter an apprehensive look.

"Come on, Vivi, I don't see why you're so against this plan, it's brilliant!" Eiko huffed.

"I don't even know why you want to do it..." Vivi said.

"To spy on Dagger and Zidane of course!"

"But why?"

"To make sure they're getting along right! See, if they think they're alone they won't try to hide anything. And since I'm the princess of Lindblum now it means they need to get along right so that I can have cousins!"

"They're not even married yet..."

"Exactly! And they need to be married to call the magic chocobo that delivers a baby!"

She frowned.

"Although something does seem kind of odd about that now I come to think of it, why would chocobos deliver babies? Don't Moogles deliver things?"

"That's just letters, babies are pretty bulky," Vivi said.

"Good point. Now, help me with my evil scheme! I already have the letters delivered."

"...Evil?"

"I mean good!"

"Sure..."

"This is the easy part, they're gonna meet at this fountain just before the hour is up. I'm gonna stand on it, you petrify me so I look like a statue, I listen to them having a private conversation and I know everything is fine!" Eiko said as she climbed the fountain.

"Okay... but I don't think you've thought this through very well..."

"I covered all bases, it's perfect!" Eiko protested as she struck a pose.

Vivi shrugged and cast the spell.

Later that day, Zidane and Garnet found themselves by a certain fountain in the gardens of Alexandria Castle.

"I got 'your' letter, Garnet," Zidane said.

"And I got 'yours'... Okay, I can't actually be bothered with this, Eiko, we know you're trying something," Garnet said, turning to the cherubic statue atop the fountain.

One stona spell later, and a pouty Lindblumian princess pouted.

"How'd you know? Did Vivi tattle?"

"No, but your handwriting is kind of distinctive. And identical on both letters. Plus you had them delivered to us while we were in the same room. Also, this is kind of my garden and I know that fountain is just a fountain. There's no statue on the central podium," Garnet smirked.

"Oh. I didn't think this one through."

"You really didn't, because there's something else you don't seem to know about that fountain," Zidane grinned.

"Huh?"

"You might want to get down soon, you have about ten seconds."

"I'll need more than that, I kinda glued my shoe in place so I wouldn't fall... Why do I need to get down anyway?"

A spray of water to the face as the clocks struck the hour answered Eiko.
